ninja-build software package provides small build system closest in spirit to Make, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ninja-build
ninja-build is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ninja-build package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ninja-build *
You will get with ninja-build package name, version, architecture and description in a table
